About Course

Startups rely on email, documents, spreadsheets, meetings and shared files every day, yet important information is often scattered and work gets repeated. Copilot can help teams draft, summarise, analyse and coordinate across Microsoft 365—but only when identities, permissions and content are organised properly. This course shows founders how to turn familiar Microsoft applications into a connected, AI-assisted operating environment. You will configure a secure Microsoft 365 foundation and learn a prompting method that works across business applications. You will use Copilot with Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, then explore the Microsoft 365 Copilot application, agents and connected workflows. The course applies these tools to realistic startup work in sales, reporting, meetings, projects and knowledge management. Every section produces a usable asset, including information standards, email routines, analysis workbooks, meeting systems and cross-application workflow maps. By the end, you will become a Microsoft 365 power user and startup systems leader: able to reduce repetitive work, find information faster, improve coordination and govern Copilot responsibly. You will leave with a 90-day Microsoft 365 and Copilot adoption roadmap. Successful learners receive a Scalelab Academy certificate, lifetime course access, future updates and access to course-specific AI tools for prompts, workflow design, document quality, spreadsheet analysis and implementation planning.

Course Content

Section 1: Set Up a Secure Microsoft 365 and Copilot Environment
Prepare the startup's Microsoft 365 environment before introducing AI-assisted work. Learners will examine plans, domains, identities, administrator roles, groups, authentication, sharing and Copilot licensing, then create a practical setup, permissions and access checklist.

  • Understand the Microsoft 365 startup environment
  • Select plans, users, licences and administrator roles
  • Configure domains, identities and multifactor authentication
  • Organise groups, teams and access responsibilities
  • Review Copilot availability and service controls
  • Create a secure Microsoft 365 and Copilot setup checklist

Section 2: Prompt and Work Effectively with Copilot
Develop a reusable prompting method for Microsoft 365 applications. Learners will define the goal, context, source material, audience, constraints and output format; improve results through follow-up instructions; and verify generated content before acting on or sharing it.

Section 3: Manage Communication and Time with Outlook
Use Copilot to reduce email and scheduling workload. Learners will summarise conversations, identify decisions and commitments, draft context-aware replies, prepare follow-ups, organise calendars and convert messages into clear priorities and next actions.

Section 4: Coordinate Teams, Meetings and Projects
Improve collaboration through Teams, Loop, Planner and related Microsoft 365 tools. Learners will prepare agendas, summarise meetings and conversations, capture decisions, assign actions, coordinate shared work and establish a reliable meeting-to-execution routine.

Section 5: Organise Knowledge with OneDrive and SharePoint
Create an information structure that Copilot and employees can use effectively. Learners will distinguish personal and organisational storage, design libraries and sites, manage permissions, improve naming and ownership practices, locate information and reduce duplicated or inaccessible files.

Section 6: Create and Improve Business Documents in Word
Use Copilot to draft, rewrite, summarise and compare business documents. Learners will create proposals, plans, policies, reports and procedures from clear instructions and approved sources while preserving accuracy, brand voice, confidentiality and human approval.

Section 7: Analyse Startup Data with Copilot in Excel
Use Copilot to organise, explore and communicate operational data. Learners will clean tables, develop and explain formulas, identify trends and anomalies, create summaries and visualisations, and analyse budgets, pipelines, feedback and performance indicators while verifying calculations.

Section 8: Build Presentations with PowerPoint
Turn source documents, data and ideas into clear presentations. Learners will develop storylines, generate initial slides, improve titles and structure, create speaker notes and maintain visual consistency for customer, team, partnership and investor communication.

Section 9: Use Microsoft 365 Copilot, Agents and Connected Workflows
Move beyond individual application features to connected startup work. Learners will use the Microsoft 365 Copilot application to search and work across organisational information, explore agents for repeatable responsibilities and design cross-application workflows involving messages, files, meetings, data and approvals.

Section 10: Govern Copilot and Drive Startup Adoption
Establish practical rules for secure, consistent and valuable use. Learners will address permissions, oversharing, sensitive information, external access, output verification, agents, training and adoption measurement, then produce a 90-day implementation roadmap.
